10 000 iPad Apps – and growing!

Last week Monday, Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO gave some statistics in his presentation at the WWDC, amongst which was the fact that Apple boasted with 8 500 iPad apps in its Apps Store. Those who are active users of the iPad’s App Store will have noticed last week that Apple indeed had more than 10 000 iPad Apps in its store.

If you visit the App Store on your iPad device and click the ‘Release Date’ link, the total number of apps can be viewed.

Back in April it was announced that Apple was approaching a number of 5000 apps. Calculating the figures, it would appear that the iPad Store doubled in size in about 6 weeks. Looking at sales figures of the iPad from around the world, this is hardly surprising.
