Aarti Parti won the Next Food Star title
Food Network has announced its next branded sensation after 10 exciting weeks. Aarti Sequeira from India who is famously known as Aarti parti took home the title of “The Next Food Network Star” on the Sunday (Aug. 15) finale, beating out Tom Pizzica and Herb Mesa. The star owns a food blog. Her culinary point of view is infusing Indian flavors and techniques into everyday American cooking.
There were three finalists. It was expected that Aarti Parti will win the title. The last and final challenge for the participants was a three minute pilot by Racheal Ray. All the three finalists gave very good performance in the last challenge. Sequeira became nervous at the start but became normal very soon after the advice given to her by Ray.

My takeaway from this result is that if you want to be the next food network star you better create and maintain a food blog before you consider throwing your name in the hat. Next contestants be forewarned!
I agree with the final three contestants. However, I would likely watch a show from Herb or Tom. I doubt I would watch an Artti show simply because her dishes are too complex for me to execute at home. If I want to SEE great food I just watch Iron Chef.
It was interesting to here the VP say Tom would take the Network in a new direction and then the choice of Artti seemed to mean the Network did not want to explore a new direction. Since they seem to be making money hand over fist I guess rocking the boat is not a good idea.

I was one of the people who wanted Aarti to win. I have always wanted to know how to create Indian flavors. I have tried in dishes that are not hard to make, but I am missing something. Hopefully Aarit will have the solution. I don’t know what Tom would have made, he made a chicken he is a big chef, so what kind of food is that? Herb had a latin flavor which could have also been good, but of all the contestants he had the least polished “show”. I do hope that both of these guys get something from this show. They are both likable people.
Aarti had star quality and thats why she won. She has a certain pizazz about herself that Herb nor Tom had. Tom presented a very good pilot though, and after watching it , I was almost about to turn my HD tv off, because I was assured that he would win the title. Luckily something told me to keep the screen rolling and in the end my favorite, Aarti, won the title. I felt that what Herb actually lacked the ability to be away from his family for long periods of tiime(so did Aria), and being a Star, that may have presented a problem in the future. I love Aarti point of view, and I actuall think they made the correct choice! Go Aarti and Aarti Parti
