America’s Test Kitchen shows the best recipes in town

America’s Test Kitchen is dedicated to providing new and innovative culinary dishes for their audience’s pleasure.  After ten completed seasons, the show has even pulled in viewers that are not usually attracted to watching television, drawn by the lure of mouthwatering dishes created by chefs thinking “outside the box”.

Every 30 minute segment features at least two new recipes, a description of the equipment used and a final taste test.  To venture outside the norm, old recipes are given a new spin by substituting different ingredients or switching sauces.  For example, instead of curing meat with the usual brown sugar or honey, apple jelly was used.  However, instead of just being a cooking show that expects viewers to just mimic shown recipes, one of the largest draws for America’s Test Kitchen is the tips given on how to create your own experiments.  Instead of just making substitutions, the hosts explain why they chose certain ingredients and what else could also be used.

Another reason for the large amount of viewers is the sheer variety of dishes created in the test kitchen.  From old fashioned fruit recipes to Italian meatballs to gourmet foods, there is something to tantalize every type of taste bud.
