Big E 17-day fair kicks off today
The Big E, this year, will have many new attractions and some familiar sights too. The Eastern States Exhibition, the largest fair of New England, started Friday its 17-day run with Military Appreciation Day along with Be a Kid for a Day.
According to the organizers of the Big E’s exhibition, this years gathering would surpass that of last years. About 1.26 million crowd gathered in 2009′s exhibition.
Apart from the livestock exhibits, there will be cooking contests, midway and concerts. The Big E of 2010 will also feature, and that too for the first time, the Musicians Hall of Fame. It will display musical instruments and many other such items from artists such as Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra.
The Eastern States Exhibition fair was first time held in 1917 and it welcomes back the Craz-E Burger i.e. a bacon-cheeseburger being served between halves of a grilled glazed doughnut and new food selections that includes fried jelly beans.
