Changes Taking Place In The Health Care Reform

On the anniversary renewal date of the policy following September 23, 2010, the following changes will be effective if you have an individual health insurance plan or a group health insurance plan.

If the health insurance plan provides ward coverage, the plan must allow coverage for children until they turn 26 years of age, even if they do not meet dependency requirements for a tax exemption. Children must not qualify for their own employer coverage to be eligible.

Group health plans cannot impose pre-existing condition limitations on children under 19 years of age.

When delivered by a network provider, preventive services are to be covered without any cost-sharing requirement. The $500/$750 N.J. limit applying to in-network services must cease.
