Chevy Chase Bank Officially becomes Capital One

Chevy Chase Bank will henceforth be known as Capital One. From September 10 it will be effective.

Capital One acquired Chevy Chase Bank in September 2009. By next month the Chase Bank will be completely rebranded. All the Chevy Chase Bank branches will be outfitted with Capital One signage. Earlier, the campaign ran that customers of Chevy Chase will be seamlessly migrated to Capital One membership.

The renaming of a large bank takes time. It cannot be done in an overnight. It usually takes a hard work of a year and also a big spending.

Capital One had spent extra money and time on Chase Bank as its large number of locations is in Capital One’s home region. In next few weeks there will be large banners in the Washington, D.C. that will include public transportation system, prominent locally targeted online advertising, and television commercials featuring star athletes.
