Hurricane Paula wrecked havoc in Carribean
Recent reports have shown that Hurricane Paula (the ninth such storm in this year) has been gaining momentum and now it has been tormenting the Caribbean. The damage being predicted is so much that Honduran weather forecasts have recommended their people to stay away from the low-lying areas and Mexico has issued an official warning to its citizens who inhabit the coast.
As per the National Hurricane Center in Miami (Florida), early on Monday Paula started forming off the coast of Honduras and soon gained enough velocity and intensity to form into a hurricane, speeding at 75 mph and with its epicenter around 230 miles south-southeast of Cozumel, Mexico. As is being forecasted, the storm caused by Hurricane Paula is expected to generate heavy rains and floods (including mudslides in the Nicaraguan and Honduran mountains). The isolated mountain regions may record as much as 10 inches of rainfall. The coasts of Mexican Yucatan Peninsula and the Bay Islands of Honduras would be bearing the heavy brunt of waves and flooding due to the storm.
