Indian Rupees: New Symbol Adopted
A new-favorite hot destination for investors, India is joining the transformation by adopting a new sign for their currency. To provide a 1.2 trillion dolla
r economy a new outlook, Indian Rupee has got its own identity. Once approved by the union cabinet, as designed by an IIT alumnus D. Uday Kumar, history was scripted while India entered into elite club of currencies such as dollar, euro, pound, yen, etc, which have distinct pictorial identities.
According to government officials, efforts are underway to include the symbol in the Unicode directory such that the printing, representation, and processing of the currency symbol is made easy. Once this is done, software giants will be approached to incorporate this symbol into their operative softwares. Keyboards being used in India, will invariably have the new rupee symbol prominently. The Manufacturers Association of Information Technology will take necessary steps to inculcate this into the manufacturing process of new softwares and hardwares. Once the Bureau of Indian Standards approve the symbol as a keyboard standard, it can be used by manufacturers to including in their designs. In order to gain ground for the design, it need to printed on the currency notes; however, it may take some time ahead.

This is undoubtedly a great step taken. The Govt. of India expects around 6 months for this symbol to get adopted but We Indian should try our best and work hard so that it gets famous and adopted by all Indian within 3 months. Though its difficult but not impossible……………..
