Is the second knee injury responsible for Kenny McKinley’s Suicide?

Friends and teammates of are yet to come to terms with his death. The 23 year old wide receiver of Denver Broncos died on Monday in an apparent case of suicide. His pals just cannot seem to understand why someone as jovial and as full of life as McKinley took the drastic decision of ending his life.

McKinley did not leave behind any note. People who knew him said they were no external signs that McKinley was under tremendous pressure and battling inner demons. McDaniel, the Denver coach had last seen McKinley less than two weeks back. He said that McKinley was his usual self with a happy smile. David Cook, McKinley’s coach at South Cobb High School said that he definitely had more in his life than he let on.

It is believed that McKinley second knee injury that ended his season resulted in acute depression. After Broncos placed him in the injured reserve list on 5^th August he underwent surgery. Shortly after the surgery he had made statements like he should kill himself. However, no one took them seriously.
