More than 4,200 evacuated after levees break in China Due to Heavy And Rapid Rains
It was reported by the officials that more than 4,200 people were made to leave Eastern China when levees broke during heavy and continuous rains, on the Bainian River, flowing through Anhuni province as mentioned by the State Media.
On Sunday, Xinhua agency of news run by the State media reported that as the river Bainian was over flooded due to the excessive flood water of heavy rains in Anhui province, the water breached the levees along the river which ran through the cities of Anqing and Tongcheng.
Xinhua said in the report that there was no loss of lives as the people were shifted from the affected area to the safer areas on time.
As Xinhua mentioned in the report, the Office of State Flood Control and Drought Relief states that after the beginning of heavy and rapid rains which started on July 8, the lives of almost 15 million people in about 10 provinces and regions of China through which Yangtize, also marked as China’s longest river flows have been disturbed. The people there are facing a lot of problems for their survival.
