Muralitharan made India to roll as Lanka approaching for a win
Sri Lankan’s were in upper hand in the 1st test match held against India and Muttaiah Muralitharan made a statement regarding his retirement plans. This leading wicket taker just announced on Thursday that he wants to go leaving a high glorious note for all his fans present around the globe.
This 38 year old man kept all his hopes in becoming the 1st man in history taking 800 wickets in Test matches and the spin king is about to retire after the match at Galle.
Muttaiah was happy with how things are going as he claimed another 5 wicket haul in the first match against India. This made Murali to move to 798 and he is just 2 away from it. As Sri Lanka scored a stunning 520-8 and declared, India in return made a total of 276-10 which made them to follow on and came up with 181-5 on day 4.
In general, Muttaiah made his decision to quit test matches after the West Indies tour in November. But when the tour against India has added to calendar, Murali made up his mind in retiring a bit earlier than he thought.
Murali is all set to play for the next World Cup in 2011 held at India, Bangladesh and Lanka. From then on, he will make a permanent move to retire from all formats of the game.
