NC Lottery draw announced: Three winners of $1m

Three winning of $1 million tickets were drawn by the NC Education Lottery today in the Cash Splash Raffle. It was scheduled to be drawn two weeks before, September 8, but only 200,000 tickets were sold till then.

By today, only 299,319 tickets were sold out of the expected 500,000 were sold and the draw was made to establish the winners for the Cash Splash Millionaire Raffle. The three winners got $1.47 million each. There were other eight prizes of $50,000 each and 30 prizes of $5,000 each. $500 prizes are for 560 other people.

“By extending sales, we sold enough tickets to cover our expenses and make a little for education,” said Van Denton, a representative of the N.C. Education Lottery.

Van Denton said the cost of per ticket for $20 was probably too high.
