New York Yankees Owner Died At 80
Owner of New York Yankees, George Steinbrenner, who rebuilt Yankees into a huge sports empire passed away at the age of 80 on Tuesday. He just celebrated his 80th birthday on 4th of July, he had a heart attack and was immediately taken to the hospital in Tampa. He passed away around 6:30 a.m. and one of the person close to Steinbrenner confirmed the news to media.
“He was an incredible and charitable man,” his family said in a statement. Steinbrenner had been suffering from poor health for many years. Though he was suffering from poor health, he was always the model of success. Always wearing blue blazer, white turtle neck, never showed his illness to anyone.
When he was asked the formula for his success he said, work as hard as you ask others to, learn from your mistakes and never give up. He is survived by his wife, 4 children and 12 grand children.
