O2 No Longer Offers Unlimited Data Deals for iPhones
The UK cellphone carrier, O2, announced that it will no longer offer unlimited iPhone data packages and will be scaling down its packages to 1GB for the iPhone 4 plan. For years O2 was known for offering real unlimited data deals for iPhone users and that for pre-paid customers as well!
Users are complaining about the confusion incurred by the new packages, where a minimum of £45 will secure 1GB of data, where pre-paid customers will pay £10 and get 500MB in data usage.
O2 is not the only telecoms in the world that moved away from unlimited data usage for the iPhone, another company moving away from this package in recent times is AT&T, who also announced that the unlimited data packages have been done away with.
Many are seeing the moves by telecoms companies as crippling the iPhone data. A large number of consumers simply suspects that telecoms companies are attempting to cash in on the new developments and growth in the technology offered by Apple.

UK’s Tele Coms not keeping pace with demand
I appreciate that O2 is at least being honest informing its customers. Yet this does not get away from the fact that the telecommunications Companies in the UK are not keeping pace with the huge increased demand for legitimate downloaded products.
Meanwhile the OFT Office of Fair Trading should halt the miss selling of Broadband by many ISP’s falsely stating unlimited usage when in fact they are not. Businesses are being affected by the restrictions placed on ‘Legitimate Downloads’ of both music and Movies due to low Gig caps. All this at time when new products, which keep markets flowing, are being seriously affected.
The UK Government meanwhile is seeking to criminalize all Net users to gain revenue by the introduction of new Laws. See here for details: http://tinyurl.com/35phmvt

@Carl, I need to agree with you.
We are all faced with this problem, our demands are simply being ignored while telecoms & governments are generating more and more income…
