Oil Rigs Could Be The Next Terrorists’ Target

U.S. Senator after disaster of B P oil that took place in Gulf of Mexico warned about terrorists’ attacks possibly on oil rigs. He told that it could be an intentional destructive attack by them. Administration of Obama has been called upon by Jim Webb Virginia’s Democrat to take immediate steps in order to ensure the safety of offshore platforms against terrorists’ attack.

A letter is sent to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Janet Napolitano Secretary of Homeland Security and Defense Secretary Robert Gates by a senator who is in Senate Armed Services Committee as a member. Through letter Webb expressed in reference to Gulf Coast that there is an urgent need to have check on any deliberate destructive attack by terrorists.  While regulatory agencies and B P are examined thoroughly by Congress. He also wanted to adopt safeguards in order to ensure security for all U.S. coastal areas.

In letter Webb penned down that in the history of all environmental disasters happened in U.S., the BP oil spill incident is considered to be the severest. He appealed to make use of those policies that reduce the severity of all types of threats because, in other areas and the Gulf of Mexico there is hub of such wells.
