Taylor Swift’s ‘Innocent’ lyrics reflect last years Kanye incidence

On Sunday’s MTV VMA Awards ceremony, Taylor Swift took to stage to say something. This time she was not interrupted by anyone. She delivered a speech referring her run-in with Kanye West in the 2009 show.

The performance of Taylor Swift started with a video montage of the debacle. The singer then started a song about her incidence at the 2009 show when her VMA acceptance speech was hijacked just to make an announcement that fellow nominee Beyonce should have won.

The lyrics of the song was something as such: “Who you are is not what you did.” She also said: “32 is still growing up now … you’re still an innocent… Everyone of us has messed up, too,” she sang. “I hope you remember today is never too late to be brand new.”

She titled the song as “Innocent” and it is going to be there in her upcoming album, “Speak.” The album is dated to be released in October.
