Typhoon Kills 13 in China
Typhoon Fanapi caused floods and landslides and killed 13 people in southern China and 33 were missing according to an official on Wednesday. This was the strongest storm to hit the country this year and it continued to drop heavy rain in the region.
Guangdong province was hit by typhoon after making a direct hit on the island of Taiwan on Sunday and two were killed there. According to China’s national meteorological center Fanapi is the strongest typhoon to hit China this year. More rains are expected in the region through Thursday morning.
Near 350 houses were destroyed in Xinyi. Two people died in flash flooding in southern Taiwan due to Fanapi. And tens of millions of dollars of damage was caused to the properties because of typhoon.
